Uniforme Loonwaarden Methodiek (ULM)

Uniform accessibility, from the initial design

Logistiek 01

For the Uniforme Loonwaarden Methodiek (ULM), one thing was central: an accessible website that meets the highest WCAG requirements. Not as a side issue, but as a starting point. The goal: a website that complies with the WCAG 2.1 AA criteria, assessed by an independent agency, and that is both content-wise and technically ready for a target audience within the public sector.

  • Flexible Umbraco website for semi-government, fully WCAG-compliant.
  • Accessibility integrated at every stage: from design to final delivery.
  • Custom design based on corporate identity.
  • Content management through modular blocks
  • Search function on website and linked PDFs

Results

  • The website is 100% WCAG 2.1 AA-compliant and externally validated
  • Visitors find the correct information more quickly through search functionality in content and PDFs
  • Editors manage content flexibly thanks to the block structure in Umbraco
  • The site runs stably and quickly on Umbraco Cloud, with uptime > 99.9%
  • Information has been rearranged and made easier to find for policymakers and professionals
From the very beginning, Webwonders has been actively involved in ensuring true accessibility. The outcome is not just a visually appealing website, but primarily a site that caters to everyone's needs.
Zorg 02

A website that sets the standard for accessibility

The Uniforme Loonwaarden Methodiek (ULM) enables municipalities and organisations to objectively, reliably, and unambiguously determine wage values. The website serves as a central hub for methodology information, downloads, news, and knowledge sharing. In order to ensure accessibility for this target audience, Webwonders was tasked with developing a site that is not only informative and user-friendly but also demonstrably compliant with all WCAG guidelines.

Accessibility was ingrained in the foundation from the start. The design, navigation, and structure of the pages were tested and optimised in collaboration with an external accessibility agency. The modular structure in Umbraco provides the editorial team with full control over the content, while visitors easily find what they are looking for – even within PDF documents.

The website has been completely redeveloped, both in terms of technology and content. Starting from scratch allowed for each page to be designed for ease of use and accessibility. The clear structure and custom design ensure that information quickly reaches the right target audience – whether they are professionals, policymakers, or interested visitors.
